Sigiriya
Sigiriya, located in Sri Lankas cultural heartland, is an ancient rock fortress and UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its historical significance and stunning architecture. Rising dramatically 200 meters above the surrounding plains, Sigiriya dates back to the 5th century AD when it was built by King Kasyapa. The site is famous for its impressive rock paintings, depicting celestial maidens, as well as the remains of a palace complex perched atop the rock.
